menards is like home depot. Today the "expert" told me i needed 2x10s to make a 6 ft header for the doorway. current building has 2-2x4s as the main frame holding up the roof. i think a couple of 2x6 will work just fine..
The "expert" was probably right. Just because a couple 2x4's are currently doing the job doesn't make it right. Although I have no way of knowing what the load on the header is I'm going to say he was closer than you. |
