| Back when I listened to Dave Ramsey...do not pre pay at the home, but pre plan. A good investment that you can draw from will grow faster than inflation and more than keep up with potential expenses. My grandma thought she had pre paid for hers. Then she had a Saturday service, etc, etc, and wound up a grand or two short of covering it. Having the service, general casket plan, burial plot, etc all on paper takes most of the stress off. Knowing you can grab the money out of the bank or draw from an investment takes the rest.
