We do the same thing with a jersey cow. Have had as many as 4 calf’s nursing her. Helps if she’s broke to lead and hobbled until she won’t kick. Usually run her in the bull pen a month before the bulls are turned out. If you do buy a dairy cow make sure you know what you’re buying, not just any that walk through on cull day.
