Your missing the point, its not about the levels, but how they are balanced. Should i not lime then since my PH is a 7.1 but my %ca is only 49, while my MG is 39%? And it yields 50 bushel less in that spot? What would you do?


In this situation I believe Kinsey would tell you to use Elemental Sulfur. Your Ca% and Mg% add up to more than 80% total. Therefore, the sulfur will work on the cation that is most excessive in the soil which is definitely the Mg. If I had to guess he would also have gypsum on your recommendation to add Calcium. He also says that when you pull Mg down for every 1% it goes down the calcium will go up 1% once they total 80%.
