39.48, -82.98 | From what I can gather, the bulk of Albrecht's research was done before 1940. It's from an era of open-pollinated corn and horse-drawn implements. How relevant is it today?
Furthermore, what do we know about his experimental design or environmental controls or statistical analysis? I have read that much of his research was conducted in greenhouses, with plants in buckets. Were the bucket locations at least randomized? Did the grad students (I assume) tending the plants know which buckets had what treatments? Etc., etc.
I think Kinsey has made a nice living translating gobbledygook for paying clients. It's long on anecdotes and short on real data. Sorry, but I see no relation between these special ratios and yield and to my knowledge, neither do modern-day researchers. Look for sufficiency and move on. | |
