Subject: RE: More Kinsey/Albrecht discussion optimum P levels

20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana
Chiming in mostly to mark this to read later and see discussions

I will add tho that I personally use a mark of 15ppm or 30# Phos as my mark to where I add phos or not. That comes from Tri-States recs. (I’m in Indiana close to Purdue). Most of my farms do not get pho’s apps and if they do they are usually maintenance. I do have one farm I own I am hammering the turkey litter go ahead of corn and one rental farm I’m doing almost as much litter on (long term rental contract and low p numbers). I am going to see how those 2 farms stack up against the others in a few years and see how that affects yield.
I have been reallocating what would be my phos dollars on farms that haven higher then 15ppm into drainage tile. As long as I have a 2+ year lease I will install some tile where neeeded and keep tiling it a little at a time till I see no ROI to more in correlation to the lease length.
