| First off, sorry about the tough break. But wanted to let you know you’re a better cattleman than I for recognizing right away to get a c section. I’ve screwed up twice in my life on that call and think about them during hard pulls.
As for the vet, sounds like laziness at its best. Would have got a bigger check for the c section but didn’t want to sew that many layers. Also feel chains should be outlawed. Everyone thinks chains are stronger. I have broke a cable on a 2000lb come along and the ob strap didn’t even show stress. And they won’t break legs, calf may still have difficulty standing correctly on front legs for a day or two. But will not crush the bone like a metal chain.
