Subject: RE: Lower MS Delta Flood

Moreauville LA
I live near the Old RIver Control and watch this pretty closely, for several reasons.

With that said, levels and flow rates are nearing 2011 levels, but in 2018, we had this same water, right now. What saves us here, is the North TX, OK and red river basin inst catching a lot of rain. If it does, then we get the same backwater effect as the MS delta does.

Keep in mind, all decisions made follow major flood plans, set forth long time back and is all TO SAVE NEW ORLEANS with secondary forces being not to open the Morganza Floodway because of property in the floodway and siltation in the lower Atchafalaya basin.

I could go on with this for hours.. Very complex: Politically and local forces at play as well.
