North Central Texas
This area the average is 92%. We run above 95% most years. 2/3 fall calving. The 1/3 spring can be bad depending on breeding conditions. This year fall calvers were 98% and spring calvers are going to bat 97%. Most the opens were scheduled for slaughter and had a replacement in line. Our lowest temp during calving was yesterday at 16. The worst times are heavy rain followed by major heat. We dropped to 88% on spring calves a few years ago. That's here. Little different in the rest of the world.
