Subject: RE: Oats, again.

Beresford, SD
I spend the extra for the latest and greatest cleaned forage variety. Doesn't take many pounds/acre increase to get your money back. But, I'm chopping for silage. This year I'm planting a 3 way blend that matures at different times. Early, Jerry. mid, Goliath. Late, Everleaf 126. Oat lodges in early head release, my thoughts are by staggering out the maturities will reduce chance of lodge and provide a longer window to put up good feed. My thought anyway, Gonna try it as I didn't get any Trit in last fall.......it's my first choice for early summer silage.
