Subject: Corn in cow manure

Illinois
If the guy feeding whole shelled corn to cows blows off the concern that there is lots of whole shelled corn in their manure, claiming the cow has gotten full use of the corn, why is it that most of that corn sprouts and grows when the weather warms up? How can any part of the kernel be “used” and it still grow?
