| My theory. The cows will be fine. But if a person wants to be in the cattle business. BE IN THE CATTLE BUSINESS. When cattle are calving. be home if your needed. if your starting cattle be home to take care of them when more care is needed. You say you've had a ruff month. Everyone calving cows in this weather has had a ruff month. Livestock needs a certain amount of care. More some times of the year than other. The cattleman I know plan their schedule around their stock. That does mean the stock runs your life.. I love being in the cow business and when calving season rolls around my family knows that what priorities we have and our social life may hafta take a backseat for awhile . When the cows are done calving and gone to grass then may be the time to get away and relax. One saved calf pays for a pretty good weekend away, I know That was prolly a stupid, inconsiderant comment but that's me | |
