If only using color occasionally I would go with a laser printer.  Even though you don't print much in color an inkjet printer will still use a lot of color ink keeping the heads clean. However, Epson has come out with a printer called eco-tank which helps with this problem.  I have no personal experience with an eco- tank. 

Many on here have a Brother color laser and are satisfied with them.  I have used Brother products for years and have been very satisfied with the cost of the printer and the price per page of printing.  I would look for a laser printer with duplex and wireless printing.
