I calve may /june on summer pasture. I strip graze with tumble wheels, so 1 hot wire keeps them in, but have better perimeter fence.

I try to tag within 12 hours, or they are hard to catch. Also castrate (band) and dehorn. I have to go move fence 2x a day so doesn't really take much time.
