Beresford, SD | Was first looser on an 80 very close to home. Mostly pasture, some crop, zero fence. 5100/acre. Fence, taxes, interest, principle, well, corrals, cross fences, seeding down crop acres to grass.....20 years. $900/pair for 150 days worth of feed.......my math. Still wish I'd hit it a few more times........touched existing family land. Enough is enough. If the ag economy continues its path, better buys are ahead. I'm afraid one more loss year for some will put an excess amount of dirt up for sale........while others with existing owned land bases keep on plugging away and write Uncle Sam checks.
