Liberty, MO		My dad had a 494A JD planter and that "U" shaped iron was like some of the other posters have stated. Worked OK with a Super 66 Oliver, But I think dad had to put in a longer bolt when planted with a 1600 Oliver because the drawbar was thicker, He also had small ropes attached to the chains back on the planter marker setup so he could change which marker dropped without turning the tractor 90 degrees.
