Subject: RE: Grandfather clock

n.c. iowa
I remember my dad telling me about a clock they had when he was a kid. They had to set a small vial of kerosene in it next to the works to keep it running. The theory was the fumes from the evaporating kerosene kept the bearings lubricated enough so the clock would run.
