Subject: JD 686 snowblower

western WI
Was blowing snow and the rotor/blower/impeller slid backwards towards the auger. It got wedged against the auger. It didn't shear any pins. Brought it in and used pry bar to break it loose. The rotor and auger still will turn together, but am wondering what has caused the rotor to move out of place??

I don't know if its in the gear box, or a possible bolt coming loose on the end of the rotor that would draw it back into place? Wondering if anyone has had a similer incident? Thanks.
