SW Iowa | There's certainly nothing wrong with a Fluke if you want to spend the money, however you don't really need to spend a lot to get accurate enough measurements for the sort of stuff it sounds like you currently need to do. My "nice" meter is a Fluke 87V, and aside from being able to measure capacitance it has very little advantage over a $20 Craftsman for anything I encounter on the farm. I have a few of those little Craftsman meters, and dad has one for years, and I think they're really quite decent for what they cost (definitely a step above Harbor Freight).
