I am biased.
I'd go with a Power Probe 4. It will do everything you want and more. Watch some YouTube videos about Power Probe products.
I bought my first PP2 15 years or so and have never looked back.
Fast, easy, accurate, and they ALWAYS have a working + and - if the light is on. Pretty idiot proof.
I have a multimeter, but always reach for a PP long before I break it out. They're just easier and are far more versatile for troubleshooting circuits, especially lights and coils.
