Montana | If the eighth digit of the vin is D then it's an lbz which is pretty desirable around here. Warm it up drive it around let it idle when ya get back for awhile. If it doesn't smoke the injectors are fine. Chipping the lbz's is mostly what caused injector issues I've heard. Ask if he's had a new transfer case put in. Some were fine and some had a pump rub issue. Still minor in my book. See if the push button 4wd works. Might be due for front wheel bearings. Other than that. I'd buy it before someone else. Was it driven regularly? If it's sat for extended periods, I've heard of the turbo vanes getting gummed up.
