I bought an '04 2500 with a Duramax with 150,000 miles on it. It now has 225,000 miles. I did have to put injectors in at 220,000 miles. I think they had been done once before. Cost was around $5,000 done at the dealer. Otherwise I haven't had to spend much on it.
You probably have an early '04 with the LB7 engine. Those dealers aren't getting poor changing injectors for $5k!! Hopefully you got new ones for that price, and not just remans.
My youngest son works at a local diesel shop. He rebuilds injector pumps and injectors etc., every day.
If we owned an LB7 that needed injectors, my boy would rebuild them himself, and I would help him change them. He would get the parts to rebuild them at cost.
Our cost to put reman injectors in an LB7??? $30 a piece. $240 total.
No kidding!
