Just some food for thought for you to ponder. Here, we have been going from the 50s to teens in less than 24 hours on the saturated ground with some substantial rains falling on a regular basis this winter. I would be worried in our situation about applying the pre which needs to get into soil profile running off after a rain. I am not trying to discourage you, just wanted to give you my thoughts.
