Another option (and a very good one if you need new seed boots too) is to use Needham or Aricks (Exapta sells Aricks) boots that have a shoulder bolt (Aricks) or bushings (Needham) to clamp down on the outside surface of the ears. The worn hole is irrelevant at that point, since the boot now swivels on the shoulder bolt or bushings -- i.e., these become a post/stud on which the swiveling occurs.
