My sons 91 f350 7.3 diesel with 90k laid down today and I'm pretty sure engine is toast! It picked up a little noise that sounded like an intake or exhaust leak. We couldn't find anything while we were feeding and I told him we'd take it to the shop later. It had the noise for about a 100-150 miles. Anyway, it he was going down the road with it and it started smoking and lost power. Pretty sure it sent all the oil out the tail pipe. Engine didn't burn any oil up to this point. I'm sure motor is done. Any idea what might have happened? No clue what to do now. I hate him to put what it would cost to rebuild it and used cummins comversion looks like it would cost about the same and no guarantees on a used 5,9. Anybody know where a good used 7.3 might be?.
