High populations on poor soil (sand) I would be lucky to get 1/2 the yield of low pop if I’m lucky. A good corn variety should do 8.5-9.5bu/1k. Sub 80 day corn that rule doesn’t apply as much imo though. Lots of guys here plant 32k+ to end up with 150 average. That’s not a good bushel/1k seed ratio (waste of money)
