NC Kansas | Are you planning on keeping the truck for awhile? The 68rfe is honestly one of the crappiest transmissions dodge ever put behind a cummins. Atleast with the 47&48re you could build them and they would hold whatever you threw at em. If your planning on keeping the truck or ever adding anymore than factory hp I would look at Revmax or Suncoast. Not just anyone can properly build a 68 but both companies listed have a good track record of making the 68 a decent transmission. Also the factory shift stradegy is trash so if you go back with a factory trans you should look into transmission tuning that will help stop the shift flares that the 68 is known for | |
