West Tennessee | We had an N14 acting similar last fall. Cleaned grounds etc. We'd think we had it and she would run great then start it again. Finally pulled it out of service and one rainy day found a badly corroded fuse going to the ECM. We knew this fall the fuel solenoid was losing power but why? She ran fine the rest of the extended fall. Fast forward to this week and truck dies again. Changed fuel shutoff solenoid and hasn't missed a beat since. I sort of figured the low voltage issue (corroded fuse) got the best of it and she finally died. I will knock on wood now that the problem doesn't return. Not a good thing to have an engine randomly shutting down. Even if you change the solenoid and she runs for a while you could still have a wiring issue causing it. | |
