South Central Iowa | Old guy that died years ago told about hogs in this area in the Depression.
The price was so low, people couldn’t afford to feed them. So the USDA paid them a nickel or dime for each and they shot them in the head and burried them. This was price support and production control back then, so I was told. He was an adult in the Depression and said he took his hogs to the great execution too. | |
