Storla SD | Shrink is a moving target. My favorite way to do it is sort the load the day before put them in a small pen by the load out with the same feed they have been eating and water available. Haul to sale barn right before they are going to sell so they go off the truck to the ring. From the farm to the sale barn is 2.5-4% shrink. How full the cattle are when you take your first weight will have a large effect on shrink. And total pounds is more important than shrink. | |
