We had some old split heartwood cedars posts on a farm I bought from my Grandma, I don’t know if my Grandpa put them in or not but they were pretty old. I would guess heartwood cedar would last maybe 2/3 of the life the same size hedge post would. Not bad but not hedge.
Anyone ever build fence using cedar posts?
