If a new PTO clutch was put in when the clutch was done, the adjustment will be too tight if it was adjusted up for the old disk. It shoves the PTO plate ahead so it interferes with the main clutch. Seems like the problem would have shown itself before 20 years, but maybe you don't use it much?
