I’d start by looking in the receptacle box, for a bad connection. If not there, start opening up the light boxes, switch box, and other receptacle boxes if applicable. It may take some time to find it, or you may get lucky and find it in the first box.

I doubt it’s wire in the walls, that’s gone bad.

There are some wire tracers that are supposed to let you trace the route of wire through walls. I say supposed to because I’ve never been around them to know wether they work or not.
