Have 6 of them very similar. Made by Superior Steel at Carthage Mo. Really like them. Heavy built, can set hay over them top with bale bed and easy to move with bale bed. Hay waste is better than the round feeders. Heavy enough to last for many years. Don't remember ever seeing a calf in mine.
The superior steel are different. Look at the bars cattle put their heads through. The ones in his pic are vertical. Superior are angled. I have both and Superior are better. I have had small calves get in the superior version but never had one get stuck. I will buy more of the Superior version but never another with vertical bars. You better check all sides every day and make sure nothing is stuck. Also will have a bunch of 4-5 weights try to live in them. |
