Stoddard Co. SEMO
Definitely go with the planter with the finger pickup corn meters. Have the meters rebuilt with the Precision Meter parts and probably set it for medium to large flats, (desired population) and planting speed of 5.5mph. Replace the disk openers and If I were you I’d burn the field down and no-till it right in that bean stubble. In stubble as you suggested and your warmer location you may not even need any trash whippers. Chance is are your soil will warm pretty fast and working gumbo is very risky. When the corn gets up to V5, rerun your water furrows.
