Tuscola, IL | That’s a big advantage of the older Magnums, they’ll hold their value. The tractor we would get rid of has been on the farm since 1988, so we do tend to hang on to them. We’ve talked about doing 3 passes on the ends, but some of our fields are only 1/4 mile rows and 20 acres. We even talked about doing 30 rows by shutting 6 off on the first pass. I’m sure we could make it work. With a 2WD, it feels like we have all the room in the world to turn it around. A 40 of any series would be much more tractor than we need to pull the planter and run the auger cart, but it could also switch to the chisel if we wanted too. Something we couldn’t do with a 10 or 20 unless we turned it up a bit. Thanks for the reply. | |
