Northern, IL | We have a 12r30" 955 planter and we get along real well with it. As mentioned they are heavy and have alot of drawbar weight. I have a neighbor that has the same planter as we do, he pulls his with a john deere 4960. I was told he had it on a 1486 and broke the drawbar but im not sure if he had the drawbar helper or not. We pull ours with a 7120 FWA magnum and pulls it just fine. We have the drawbar helper on ours that attaches the 3rd link of the 3pt to the top of the hammerstrap drawbar to take some weight off the drawbar. I have never seen a 12/23 split row planter like yours in real life only pictures. We did have a wheel bearing go out on ours but it was a wing wheel. I also try to not transport the planter with much seed in it. | |
