| We've tried different closing systems, and all have their place dependent on ground conditions. The most universal that we've found are the simple cast closing wheels.
Like others have said, the first thing i would get rid of are the coulters in front. For us, they bring up too much moist dirt and cause the gauge wheels to mud up if conditions are not ideal.
In my opinion, the single most important thing for no-till corn vs. conventional tillage is fertilizer on your planter. It takes longer for corn to get going in colder no-till soils, and having nitrogen in the root zone when it needs it is critical | |
