I feel sorry for the dairymen the lost due to unavoidable stuff from the storm. I feel less sorry for the megadairies that lost because employees were unable to get there. Flame away.

So since you've appointed yourself judge and jury, what constitutes a "MegaDairy" that is big enough we can't have any pity for the cows and people that make up the dairy? 1,2, 5,000 cows? Because every dairy I've ever been on the owner is there. Maybe they split time between a couple dairies, but so does the herdsman, nutritionist, mechanic, etc. Regardless, any size dairy relies on employees. To think that a larger dairy cares less is an asinine comment by someone with an obvious vendetta.

Asshat.

I was unaware that you had the right to tell me how to feel. I'm simply being honest about my feelings on the matter. I never said I hope something bad happens to a megadairy, but guess what? It did. I'd like to see the statistics on dairy size vs loss of stock. I'd be surprised if 100-500 cow dairies lost any. I don't have anything to do with the dairy business but it makes me sad to see hundreds of family farms fold up or suffer while multiple 5000+ cow dairies are built which is happening right now in my area. It's killing small town America. Every aspect of ag has or will have the same issue. When a board of shareholders lose equity to a natural disaster (and that's all it is to most of them) I'm not feeling sorry for them. Sorry I'm not sorry. It's not as though my opinion makes one damn bit of difference either way so why get all butthurt?
