n.c.iowa | Soooo, a lot of wrong assumptions, and most likely poor info doing deseminated.
First off the planter you purchased has got bigger problems that the seed monitoring/control system, you should worry about those first, and then if you get that stuff tackled, maybe delve into the very doubtful positive roi of changing the seeding and control/monitoring system over.
As far as the case system running the planter and the PP system monitoring, several NATers are doing it, and I do it. yes it can be done, no the case system doesn’t like controlling and not getting any input back on the seed monitor, but will do it. Keep in mind, what the seed monitor sees is not what’s controlling the planter, the seed drop is being controlled by mph x seed disc rpm(encoder on drive motor)
. So the seed drop monitor other than offering you a visual interface, has no bearing on what’s actually going on with the seed drop.
As far as the rest of what you are contemplating, it’s your money, do with it as you please, but the the only positive roi I can see with your plan, is the downforce setup if you are doing, or gonna do no-till.
Otherwise if you get all of the drive system into good repair, and become familiar with how everything works, that planter will do as a good of a job as anything else, minus all of the high dollar add-ons. | |
