n.c.iowa | Well, here is the problem with running the Case motors with a PP setup. The case motors are designed to run at a higher Pwm cycle rate, which the PP can’t attain, then there is the fact that with the 12 and 16 rows case planters the section control valves are on one side, so the case controller knows this and compensates for the slight delay of having the valve 15’ away from the motor on the one side.
The PP system is not capable of compensating for these two things, and you are actually going backwards as far as system control when you install a PP system on a case planter. So that’s most likely why when the OP starts planting beyond a certain speed his singulation drops off, because the PP system can’t keep up.
The Deere and the PP motors are a different style of motor, and that’s what the PP system was designed to run. | |
