Anyone spread 150 pounds pre plant. Will it be there when the plant needs it. Plan on working it in. Have never used urea.
There is A LOT of that here. With all the rain we had this year a lot of corn ran out N with this program. Here are some pictures of one of my fields. I put P, K, 50# AMS and some zinc down with planter on May 9. Came back around June 10th and put on all of my urea (treated with agrotain) and another 50# of AMS. Almost no tile in this field and you can see the clay knobs on the yield map. You can see it along the north side were its heavy gumbo and then on the south side the creek floods it out with a 2" rain.
I will be doing about half of my acres putting all the N on when the corn is about a foot tall this year. Worked fantastic last year and really hung in there much better than the preplant stuff I had. Dont be afraid of urea, but I like to apply it more in season than preplant. I never have to worry about rain to incorporate it and the window to get it on is pretty wide.
