What is your row spacing?  5518 has a very upright leaf structure.  The stay green last year was the best in my plot but I did not have any 6408 to compare the 2.  I really like what I am seeing out of the 55 family and will be planting a lot of 5510 this year but again can not speak to personal experience with 6408.
