Subject: RE: Spray foam building

SW Minnesota
I think the problem is the salesmen that Morton has. I think they have no building training or experience other than what Morton gives them. I had them do my first shed in about 2000. I gave them the dimensions, they gave a price and they built it. In 2008 I gave them the dimensions I wanted for a shop I wanted but I specified that I wanted it on a 2 ft concrete stem wall. I also specified that I wanted the columns and rafters spaced 4 ft apart instead of the usual 7.5 they would normally have done. I told them I knew it would cost more but I wanted the extra strength and it would save on the nailers in the ceiling. They wouldn't do it. So i built a Wick that way. I used open cell spray foam in the walls. I don't see any sign of moisture being trapped. One thing I can see is that putting wrap on before the siding would sure be nice for times when damaged panels need to be replaced.
