Subject: RE: Shop wall insulation: spray foam vs fiberglass

Do both, I spray foamed the walls with 3” of foam and added 6” of fiberglass. I turned the boiler off yesterday morning and checked the temperature this afternoon and it had only gone down three degrees in 30 hours. Yesterday days high was -28 with a overnight low of -38. Today we warmed up to a balmy -25. Damn I sure do love this global warming. Pay for it now or a lot more later.

PS The cost of the spray foam was $20000 and fibreglass was 4000, both are rated @ R20 but the foam seal everything up and did not need a vapor barrier for the fibreglass.
