I know there are a lot of farms around here trying to farm to the bottom of the ditch to get one more row in the field and I don't agree with that. Filled up ditches can't do their job. But, we have one ditch that just attracts the grader guy a lot and we don't farm into the bottom. It really makes it hard for us to unload across the ditch or cross it if we have to, for instance if we split the 80 and don't want to knock down crop to get to/from the culvert. I never disagree with a ditch getting a good cleaning out if the road needs the extra material back on it. A flat place like Kansas needs the ditches. | |
