Schochoh Ky
Straight 50 a ton is very fair in the big bale . We pay 1.00 a small square for standing or windowed straw. Very few sellers here , as the race is always on to plant dc soybeans. Straw market is currently out of wack with supply. We sell in a 200 mile radius and currently getting at least one call everyday from someone we don't supply looking for straw. We have baled every acre our farm has produced for 35 years , every acre , every other year, have seen pretty much no decline in soil tests. We do use some chicken litter and cover crop every acre not in wheat. We will average 2 tons removed per acre. You must remember, half your organic matter is in the roots .
