Subject: RE: Ice cleats (footwear)

north central Iowa, Hampton
I had a pair of rubber strap pull-over type that blew up. I found that the actual cleats were still ok, and I had a pair of slightly worn Tingley pull on rubbers.

I heated the end of a welding rod and melted holes in the rubbers. Then poked / prodded/ worked / wiggled the studs from the pullovers into the melted holes. I ended up with a fairly water proof, easy to wear pair of "studded rubbers" It's the best I've come up with.
