I was in the same spot in 2015, never sprayed an acre before I bought a 1000 gallon 60’ boom sprayer with a hyrdraulic pump, I plant with a 12 row planter, after two years I found a deal on a 1350 gallon fast sprayer with a 90’ boom and I wish I would’ve got the 90’ right away. I really like the fast sprayer and they have been good to work with when I need anything. I pull it with a 4240 John Deere and don’t have any problem. As far as tips go just got to your chemical supplier and tell them how fast you plan on driving and what they would recommend for tips and gallons per acre, like others have said 3 way nozzle bodies are nice!
