If you don't mind a bug of walking the High Tressel Bridge at Slatee has some great views. The Court Ave district in Des Moines is a good time. Hit the massive farmers markets Sat morning, then bar hop at night. Fongs Pizza is a great stop. Zombie Burger is over rated. Lots of good dining in DSM. It's only an hour east to the Kinzie Innovation Center.
